David Copas has more than 30 years
of professional experience
in Information Systems, Logistics and Management.
He has been a senior executive
of several multi-billion dollar private-sector companies. He has
held positions as Vice President, Senior Vice President, Chief Information
Officer, and Executive Committee Member.
David is a hands-on leader with excellent continuity of professional
success and experience. This experience includes a strong background in
assessing essential business challenges while developing specific action
plans to address. He is a published author of articles on data warehousing
and outsourcing, and has been quoted frequently in such leading industry
publications as CIO, Managing Automation and InfoWeek.
David’s experience and expertise has made him a requested and popular
speaker at industry functions.
Five years ago, David was asked to lead a worldwide logistics
organization for Russell Stover Candies in addition to retaining
his I.T. organization. As Senior Operations Executive, David
took responsibility for private fleet operations, contracted
carriers, 14 distribution centers, finished goods inventories
and information systems with a total budgetary responsibility
of $54 million. During that period, he implemented multi-national
distribution operations in England, Mexico and Canada. In 2005,
David assumed responsibility for the CPFR and VMI departments,
streamlining and improving in-stock percentages.
Late in 2005, David founded Copas + Associates, LLC, a management consulting
